  1. What do I think?… I think I’m subscribing to this blog. Nicely done.

  2. This is one of the best ideas I’ve heard in a long time. I’ve been waiting for YouTube to release a feature like this since I started working in marketing.

YouTube is one of the only major players in social media that was almost solely used to push media. Marketers could do very little listening and interacting with video before. Sure comments and response videos are nice, but this allows people to feel like they are a part of the bigger organization. As a relationship tool, this is huge. A way to show how we interact and support our audiences.

Devin – “As a relationship tool, this is huge” Exactly! Really great comment. You nailed it.

    Todd – Thanks!

  4. Seth,

Great thoughts! At Abilene Christian we have a student driven campaign called You@ACU (youtube.com/youatacu)

YouTube Direct will be a fantastic piece as we redesign this site and fully integrate it into our students’ experience.

ACU will have a lot of fun with this. For the second year in a row, we distributed an iPhone or iPod Touch to each incoming student. Obviously that means only our first-year students have the 3Gs but as the channel mentioned above will show, we’ve got plenty who will use and submit this kind of UGC.

      Scott,

I’m consistently impressed with what you folks at ACU are doing. Please keep me posted if you do implement YouTube Direct as I’d love to see the results!
