Why I Was Wrong About Location-Based Services

A few weeks ago I wrote a blog post for Inigral.com about why higher ed can forget about location-based services. Since then, I’ve discovered the service Double Dutch and have to say they’ve changed my mind. Watch the video below to hear my public apology, and why I think Double Dutch is the future of location-based marketing.

  1. Do you know if they are also planning an Android app?

I couldn’t find a mention of it on their site. We are seeing a pretty significant upswing in Android usage on our campus.

I’m not sure if they have a general public android app yet, but they do have the ability to roll out custom location-based apps on iPhone, android or blackberry, per request by an organization that contracts with them. So it could definitely work if you’re seeing a spike of android usage on campus. They’ also can set it up as a mobile site.
